There are two SaaS-related events I’m speaking at next week that I’m very excited about.

Screen Shot 2013-10-11 at 5.10.36 PMThe first up is DEMO.  I’m first an Enterprise Judge on the start-up demos — and then doing an amazing panel with the CIOs of Dish,  Workday and BDP International on how start-ups can actually sell to the CIO.  We did a dry run and the CIO topics are great.  Actually, we will turn this into about 2-3 SaaStr posts.   Both the chicken-and-the-egg aspects (how does a 6 person SaaS company actually sell to a CIO?), and what The Social Contract is when you close a Big Enterprise customer in the very early days (what you have to commit back if you do sell to the CIO), and other great topics.  Hope to see you there!  Lots of great CEOs and execs will be there.  Kudos to DEMO and Erick Schonfeld for putting together a really great panel and agenda here.

Sales Hacker Conference.  It looks to be big fun.   I’ll be giving a talk on re: Hiring a VP Sales, and on a panel giving sales advice to young SaaS start-ups.  Also speaking with be the VP/SVPs of sales from Hubspot, RelateIQ, Box, Insideview, ToutApp, Scripted, and more.  Brian Jacobs of Emergence Capital Partners (my other investor in EchoSign) will also be speaking and I am a huge fan of him and Emergence.  Please come if you can!

Both are mid-next week.
