Zylo is one of the leaders in managing SaaS and B2B app spend, covering $40 Billion of SaaS app spend, and has their latest report out SaaS Management Report out here.
It has a ton of data. For SaaS execs and founders the pieces I found most interesting:
#1. The Average Number of SaaS Apps Across All Buyers is 275. 152 for Small Tech Customers, 660 for Enterprises. It’s Flat.
2021 was Peak SaaS App, with 323 per B2B customer on average. Today it’s down to 275 and basically flat with 2023. So we aren’t buying more apps. Where will 1000+ agents fit in? We’ll see. Perhaps this will grow materially in 2025. But it didn’t in 2024.
#2. Price Increases & Consolidation Are Hitting Hard. Companies Are Spending 20% More Per Employee and 9.3% More Overall.
This sounds a bit high to me, but overall Gartner says SaaS spend is up about 20%, so it ties. And if the number of apps per org is basically flat, that means apps on average are capturing 20% more spend per employee.

#3. IT Spend It Up, But It’s All In The Enterprise
That’s where AI spend really is today. Smaller companies often just don’t have the resources to do the change management required for big AI deployments …. today:
