“What’s the status of my speaking submission?” If you’ve submitted a proposal for a speaking slot or a session at SaaStr Annual 2018, this is a question you’ve probably asked yourself recently. Don’t worry, I’m here to give you a bit of an update, and let you know there’s still time if you want to submit a speaking submission.

First, Call for Speakers for SaaStr Annual 2018 closes October 31st, 2017. That’s in just a few weeks, and means you still have time for last minute submissions. We’re in the process of reviewing current submissions and contacting those we’re interested in.

Haven’t heard from us yet? Don’t worry, we’re still reviewing now through early November, and all submissions will be contacted with a final decision no later than November 15th, 2017.

Secondly, if you want to submit a proposal, I highly recommend you review our original Call for Speakers blog , which you can find here, and also review a few new pointers from what we’re looking for below.

  • No Commercials or Case Studies, please. The magic of Saastr Annual content is that it features speakers, sessions, learnings, lessons, and stories you can’t find anywhere else on the planet (including Google). As much as we love your company, and the awesome customers you have, our attendees want to hear about your successes and learned business tactics, and not about how your product solves problems. (But, we do have a great expo hall for that.)
  • Not every session can be a presentation 🙂 We love great conversation, and idea-building sessions, and at the core of that, are panels. We aim to put together panels that include a diverse set of voices from several industries and roles, which a lot of the time, result in the highest-rated sessions by attendees year after year. While we appreciate the massive amount of presentation submissions we receive, we’re also looking for speakers that are comfortable participating on panels – which you can denote in your submission.
  • Don’t let a lack of public speaking experience deter your submission.  We will have FIVE stages in a range of audience sizes this year, and we’re looking for new and emerging voices for all the stages. We’ll have the household names on stage, but we’re always on the lookout for the speakers *just* on the verge of becoming the next household name. And that could be you.
  • Want to be a moderator? There’s a place for you! The unsung heroes of the SaaStr Annual stage are our amazing moderators. We’re always on the search for the ones that want to help tell the stories of our speaker on stage. If you have a knack for research sorcery, question asking, and dynamic conversation skills (Hello, all you extroverts out there!) let us know you want to moderate in your submission.

Sound like a good fit for you or your boss or your friend or someone you know? Then fill out the submission form below by October 31st, 2017.
