Q: How many executives are too many in a pitch meeting?
2 is all you need.
The CEO, and the wing-person.
Bring the best wing-person you have (co-founder, CTO, whatever). Make sure she has 2–3 core points to talk about, so it’s not all the CEO talking. And whatever you do, it has to be someone that’s part of the management team. Not a consultant or advisor.
2 is good. 2 shows you have depth, that’s it’s not just the CEO that can carry the room, speak to the plan, and answer the tough questions. If there are 2, then the VCs will assume they are other great folks, too.
And again, make sure your wing-person does at least 15% of the talking.
But leave the rest of the team back at the office.
