In a small company, everyone already knows. Not 100% of everything, but most everything.

Just tell them. Tell them what you can do to rally them. Tell them what you can cut to make it / stretch it out. Or if it’s really, truly over — thank them. They already know.

But if they are still there, you may still have a shot.
