SaaStr started in late ’12 as an experiment in sharing back the tactical and pragmatic learnings of scaling a SaaS business from nothing to something, from initial traction to initial scale, from $0 to $1m in ARR, to $10m in ARR and $30m in ARR and $100m and beyond.

It seemed like there was plenty of strategic advice out there on the web (how to Go Big, how to Raise $200m, how to have a Great Board Meeting), but a dearth of basic nuts-and-bolts learnings about how we grow recurring revenue businesses.

In ’13:

  • We established ourselves as one of the largest informal communities around early-ish stage SaaS businesses and founders, growing to 300,000-400,000 views per month across the SaaStr blog, Quora, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Entreprise Irregulars, and CloudAve.
  • We had a great first SaaStr Social with 400+ SaaS founders and VCs.
  • And we did some terrific events, including great presentations at Dreamforce, DEMO, TieCon, and the first Sales Hacker Conference, and on Bloomberg TV.

Our goal for ’14 is to build on what’s working.  Look for more to come here, including better integration of SaaStr on Quora with the SaaStr blog, more on helping you find a great VP of Sales or Marketing through SaaStr Jobs (we’ll start some experiments here in January), and much more on the in-person meet-up, teaching and sharing side.

Thank you again for being part of the SaaStr community!
