So we do love our SaaStr AI.
It’s not perfect, but in its first month alone, it’s answered over 6,000 chats and questions from the SaaStr community! On everything from how to hire a great VP of Sales, to reviewing investor memos, to helping (many!) founders decide if they should quit or not.
It’s not perfect but it’s great. Try it here.
And it turns out it can do things we didn’t intend.
One is be our BDR for SaaStr sponsorships. Initially, it was OK and could answer support questions on its own. But then we uploaded the prospectus and trained it a bit, And wow.
It’s not perfect, but honestly it’s better than 90% of humans could be — for answering questions at least. Not for selling per se, but for answering sales-related questions.
Because it knows so much more:
- It truly knows the differences between different levels of offerings, and different booths
- It knows how many leads and lead scans each type of sponsor gets
- It can make recommendations for a given budget
- It can hand you off to sales, albeit just a general email, when the prospect is ready
- It knows booth specs, how activations work, and lots of niche stuff even I don’t really know
- It can kindly tell folks with not enough budget that it might not be a fit
Our AI knows its stuff cold. That’s better than 90%+ of BDRs.
It’s not the same. It’s not a salesperson. It’s a digital agent that can answer questions pretty accurately.
But for what it is, within its limited scope — it’s better.
