I think most of us that have been in SaaS for a while see us as somewhere in the bottom of the second inning, possibly top of the third:
- We’re still early in trend of “SaaS”-ification of most markets and verticals. Not CRM or marketing automation, which are well penetrated and SaaS-ified. But it’s still early in almost every other category and vertical.
- Mobile has just gotten started in business process SaaS, really.
- The markets are 5-10x larger that they were just 2-3 years ago.
So you see companies like Zenefits and Slack seemingly pop out of nowhere.
