I am in entry level B2B sales consistently hitting over 100%. I studied personal finance and entrepreneurship. What’s the best next step to pursue a career in entrepreneurship?
Become a Director of Sales.
You’re likely not technical or an engineer. So you aren’t going to code yourself into the next Facebook.
So what do you have to offer as an entrepreneur? That you can manage and build a team, on the “business” side.
The best way to learn how to do that is not just be an individual rep, but get promoted into a manager, and then hire and build a team. At least a small one.
If you learn how to hire 2 great folks, you’ll have learned the basic skills to recruit and hire almost any team.
Stay on track for now, get promoted to manager, be a good manager and prove you can hire well. Then you may be ready for CEO.
Then go find your technical co-founder and do something great.
