Man others here can give you lots of great advice. I wish I could internalize it and move on like Auren Hoffman wisely suggests. None of it worked for me.
For example.
I “made” $10m+ on paper in the Web 1.0 days in ’01. And then “lost” almost all of it in the Dot Bomb crash less than 12 months later.
I pretended. I pretended it was OK, that that was life. But it hung over me for years and years and years. That if only I’d just done this or that.
Then I sold my first start-up for $50m in ’04. And I still hadn’t gotten back to where I was on paper, but at least, I had some liquidity.
I felt a lot better.
It took 4 years.
