“My App Stack” is a new series where we dig in with top CMOs, CROs, CTOs and CEOs on just what apps they’re really using to run their business. I always learn a lot from these — they are in essence a best practices list from each leader. Last week we had a great one with Sean Falconer, Head of Marketing of Skyflow, check it out here.
This week we have Frank Dale, SVP of Product at SalesLoft!
#1. What’s your core stack of apps today?
I use Salesloft to communicate with customers and review conversation recordings related to product needs customers express. We run on Productboard, Figma, Jira, Mixpanel, Pendo, and Looker. I’m in those apps every day along with Slack, Gmail, and Zoom.
#2. What’s the number one top new app you’ve added the past year?
We’ve gone deeper in the way that we use Productboard to support internal alignment, planning, and roadmap communication across functions.
#3. Other than your own, what app would you never let anyone take away from you no matter what:
I would not let people take product analytics away. We use Mixpanel for that today.
#4. What’s your top “undiscovered gem” — an app you love but others may not have heard of?
I’ll give you two. I’m a lifelong learner and two of my favorite apps are Notefuel and Overcast. Notefuel is a spaced repetition app that I use to review important concepts from books I’ve read or podcasts I’ve listened to. Overcast is a podcasting app that I find significantly better than the native iPhone app. Anytime I’m running, driving, or doing work around the house I’m also listening to books or podcasts to learn. Overcast makes it very easy to get to the important points.
