“My App Stack” is a new series where we dig in with top CMOs, CROs, CTOs and CEOs on just what apps they’re really using to run their business. I always learn a lot from these — they are in essence a best practices list from each leader. Last week we had a great one with Neeracha Taychakhoonavudh, Global Head of Customer Experience at Asana, check it out here.
This week we have Tifenn Dano Kwan, CMO at Amplitude!
#1. What’s your core stack of apps today?
I think of the apps I rely on in four different categories: reporting, collaboration, analytics, and management. For reporting, my go-to is Salesforce – I am looking at campaign dashboards there every day – and Tableau.
For collaborating with my team, I rely on Slack and Zoom. I also use WhatsApp to collaborate with family and friends abroad, and I’ve used it to connect with my teammates in France for our Product Club.
For analytics, I use Amplitude for digital analytics, deep-dives into how campaigns are performing, and driving product-led growth.
And finally, for my management duties my top three apps are Allocadia, Workday, and Greenhouse, but I’ve recently also been using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Frame.io for viewing demo videos.
#2. What’s the number one top new app you’ve added the past year?
This last year I started used Zoom’s AI companion for summarizing meetings and highlighting next steps easily and it’s been a great tool.
For personal use, I use the F45 app daily for workout inspiration, to book fitness classes, and to participate in challenges.
#3. Other than your own, what app would you never let anyone take away from you no matter what:
Salesforce is the app I consistently use every single day, so I couldn’t live without that. I would also say Google’s entire suite of workplace apps – Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc. – would be extremely difficult to lose. I can’t imagine going back to Microsoft.
#4. What’s your top “undiscovered gem” — an app you love but others may not have heard of?
I think more companies should be using Bambu, Sprout Social’s advocacy platform. Social media should be a priority for everybody these days, and your employees are one of your best brand amplifiers. Bambu makes social media accessible and easy for anyone across teams.
